I can't believe some of the things I've seen in this thread. I'm actually a little shocked and dissapointed that when faced with a possible remake the best that you can come up with is

"ZOMG!!!!! TARANTINO HAS TO DO IT!!!!!!!!"

I enjoy Quentin's movies, but I don't think he'd be right for "Battle Royale"

Someone menetioned Michael Bay a while back, probably as a joke, but if you think about it, Bay would be perfect if they stuck closer to the manga, (at least for the car chase).

However, if this movie is actually going to happen, which I highly, highly doubt considering its subject matter, I'd like to see Cronenberg do it. He's a mad man, but he's got a way of making violence very visceral and impactful *History of Violence* and he can handle insane subject matter *Videodrome* and He's done a remake before that didn't suck *The Fly*

Hell, I think he wrote the remake to "The Fly" as well, which shows that if New Line were to have the balls to stand up and hand him creatitve control over a BR Remake, then I think he could do a fantastic job. Hell, just give him the novel to read and then let him build his script from that, that way no one can complain that he took anything from the movie, although some jackasses will still cry about how "His remake was totally different from the Original, and blah blah blah" becuase they're #$!%#*# morons and would prefer a remake to be a shot for shot remake instead of a re-imagining of the original source material.


My point is, Give it to Cronenberg, and don't let Tarantino touch it.
