The whole briefing scene was good - both Riki's antics and the class' behavior, collectively and individually, which ran a gamut of emotions (talk about mood swings!). Especially when Masami Shibaki whipped out his knife and threw it at Riki's head and missed, and Riki didn't blink! Then when he pulls it out of the blackboard and confronts Shibaki, but doesn't stick him.

Riki sitting in his enclosure with the packets of pills, polishing the rugby ball. Later on when the soldier reports back to him and his mouth his chockful of pills.

In Shuya's Afghanistan flashback when he's with Mimura, after Mimura gives him his AK and his guys charge out of the room into the shadows and he hobbles gamely after them. (I still don't really understand this scene though).

After Takuma and Shuya's fight, Shuya sits up and starts to explain why he's fighting, and the rest of the core Wild 7 just happens to be standing around behind him in such a way that no one's blocking each other and you can pick them all out individually.

Ai Iwamura's throwing her bomb laded doll at the attacking SF. Wasn't expecting that!

Osamu Kasai and I think it is Satoshi Imakire's death with reversing the RPG at the ground and firing it - talk about going out with a bang.

Shuya and the AT-AT leader's fight - despite being nailed with a pipe to the stomach, Takashi Taniguchi redeems himself from playing a wuss of Shuya's dad in BR to being a badass: he takes on three people armed with automatic weapons armed only with a pistol (he doesn't even bother wearing a helmet or using an MP5 like the rest of his SF troops), shoots the first pipe Shuya tries to strike him with out of his hand, and drives off Takuma and Shiori so he can finish Shuya off.

Shuya and Takuma's Butch and Sundance charge up the stairs right through the doorway, it's taken right out of the latter movie. Shuya is even armed with a six shooter! (I'm guessing it's the Smith & Wesson M19 he picked up in BR)

Things I was expecting but didn't happen, of course:

When Noriko appears at the end, she's holding a child and says to Shuya, "Shuya! It's your baby!" (he was gone for 9 months)

The fleeing Wild 7 and Shikinatoride students see the light at the end of the tunnel (this doesn't make any sense, really) and it turns out to be soldiers waiting for them with a machine gun and a spotlight!
